Plan Element

Layer name in DWG file

Description

Façade outline

00_OUTLINE

This outline defines the internal face of the external walls.

The polyline on the 00_OUTLINE layer also sets the direction from which workstations will be arranged. Desks will be laid out perpendicular.

This layer is mandatory.

Marking the Outline

  • Draw a polyline representing the internal outline of the building’s façade.  The polyline must be drawn as a continuous sequence of connected segments and be placed on the layer 00_OUTLINE.

  • The polyline must be closed. It should form a continuous, unbroken loop enclosing the interior space.

Straight Façades
If the building has a straight façade (without recesses or indentations), the internal façade outline should coincide exactly with the façade line.

Irregular Façades (with Recesses or Indentations)
If the façade includes recesses, niches, or other irregularities, the internal outline should be drawn as a straight line along the general direction of the façade, ignoring the indentations. This creates a simplified, continuous boundary inside the external walls.

Atrium
If the building includes a façade around an atrium, draw its internal outline using the layer 00_OUTLINE
.

Facade

00_FACADE

Solid façade walls - exterior walls.

This layer is optional, as a building may not contain any solid exterior walls.

Marking Exterior Walls
  • Mark exterior walls with a polyline along the inner outline of the solid façade walls.

  • Segments on the 00_FACADE layer must be connected with segments representing windows/glass curtain walls on the 00_WINDOWS layer, or with segments representing the building core on the 00_CORE layer (if the core is adjacent to the façade), so that together they form a closed polygon.

Atrium

If the building contains atriums, their walls must also be marked here. In the case of atriums, the solid façade walls must also be marked and combined with windows/glass curtain walls or core segments to form a closed polygon.

Windows

00_WINDOWS

Marking windows and glass curtain walls is required to correctly detect the bright zone.

Marking Windows

  • Single windows must be drawn as individual segments connected either with the façade wall segments on the 00_FACADE layer or with the core segments on the 00_CORE layer if the core is adjacent to the façade.

  • Glass curtain walls with mullions must be drawn as a continuous sequence of connected segments, where the polyline vertices represent the centers of façade mullions. These vertices serve as reference points for the placement of new partition walls.

  • Windows and glass curtain wall should coincide with the façade glazing or with the façade outline. A slight deviation is acceptable, but the distance between the segments on the 00_WINDOWS layer and the polyline on the 00_OUTLINE layer must not exceed 20 cm.

  • All segments on the 00_WINDOWS layer must be connected either with façade wall segments on the 00_FACADE layer or with core segments on the 00_CORE layer (if the core is adjacent to the façade) so that they form a closed polygon.

Atrium

If the building contains atriums, their glass façades must also be marked on this layer. In such cases, the glass façade walls must be combined with solid external walls or core segments to ensure they form a closed polygon.

Core

00_CORE

Core walls and partition walls separating common areas from leased areas.

This layer is mandatory.

Marking core and partition walls

Mark the walls with a polyline along the external outline of the core and partition walls.

Columns

00_COLUMNS

Columns. This layer is optional if there are no columns on the floor.

Marking columns

Mark columns with a closed polyline or a circle along their outline.

Entrances

00_ENTRANCE

00_ENTRANCE_PREFERRED (optional)

Main doorway to the leased area. This layer is mandatory.

Marking Entrances

Mark only main entrances to the office area (doors or elevator doors). Draw entrances with a polyline, or with a two-segment polyline for double doors. Main entrances are usually located along the polyline on layer 00_CORE.

Notes

Main entrances are the starting points when generating office layouts. When the main doorway is marked in the mapping on layer 00_ENTRANCE_PREFERRED, the office layout will always be generated from that entrance.

A corridor leading to these doorways will be generated automatically if you do not manually draw a corridor axis on layer 00_CORRIDOR_AXES leading to them.

Doors

00_DOORS

Non-primary entrances such as emergency and service doorways, service elevator doors, located within the rental area. This layer is optional if there are no non-primary  doorways on the floor.

Marking doorways

Mark doorways with a polyline, or with a two-segment polyline for double doors. Doorways are usually located along the polyline on layer 00_CORE.

Notes

These doorways are not used as starting points when generating the office layout (unlike entrances marked on layers 00_ENTRANCE and 00_ENTRANCE_PREFERRED).

A corridor leading to these doorways will be generated automatically if you do not manually draw a corridor axis on layer 00_CORRIDOR_AXES leading to them.

Corridor axes

00_CORRIDOR_AXES

Corridor axes define the circulation layout in the generated functional plan.

Marking corridor axes:

  • Corridor axes must be drawn as a polyline - as continuous sequence of connected segments.

  • All corridor axis segments should be connected to form a single continuous graph. If two corridor mappings are drawn separately without a connecting segment, this may cause errors during generation.

  • When relevant, extend the axes to entrances and other door openings. This helps define circulation paths, but it is not mandatory.

  • Corridor axes must intersect accurately at the intended points. Avoid misalignments or imprecise connections.

  • The axes should not intersect with structural columns. Adjust their paths as needed to avoid conflicts with the building structure.
Underlay00_UNDERLAY

You can include a building floor plan underlay (showing, for example, the façade, building core, technical rooms, staircases, or restrooms) to assist with mapping. This allows existing building elements to be visible in the generated space plans.

To attach a floor plan underlay to your mapping:

  1. Copy the elements you want to display from a separate DWG file into your mapping file.

  2. You can either:

    • (RECOMMENDED) Create a block from the copied elements (without exploding blocks)  with any insertion point and adjust it to fit the mapping, then move the block to the 00_UNDERLAY layer, or

    • Move the elements (without exploding blocks) to the 00_UNDERLAY layer, or

    • Move the elements (without exploding blocks) to the 00_UNDERLAY layer and group them.

Note

If the building layout contains complex blocks, this may cause display issues in the generated space plans (PNG format). In such cases, you can correct the building layout in your mapping by exploding the incorrectly displayed blocks into simpler elements.

Excluded layout area
00_EXCLUDED_AREA

On the 00_EXCLUDED_AREA layer, you can mark areas that should be excluded from the office layout design.

These may include, for example, floor spaces occupied by other tenants or parts of the office that are planned for later, individual arrangement in an editable CAD file.

Marking excluded layout areas

Mark excluded areas using a closed polyline.

Arrangement area

00_ARRANGEMENT_AREA
Limit the arrangement area to specified polygons that define a selected section of the floor.

This layer is not mandatory.

Marking arrangement area:
Mark this area with a closed polyline forming a single polygon.
